Accepting the Referral

Well, we have officially accepted our referral! The way the process works is that WHFC contacts us with "The Call". Then they e-mail us pictures and info about the kiddoes. Then we had a doctor at the International Adoption Clinic at the University of Minnesota review it.....to make sure they look healthy. They DO! Then, we sign a bunch of papers and send that (and the money) off to WHFC. When they get the papers they contact Dr. Tsegaye in Ethiopia (the amazing and wonderful man who runs the home in Ethiopia and facilitates all the adoptions) and they tell him to go forward with the process. Our dossier (the huge stack of documents and papers we compiled) then needs to go through 13 Ethiopian government agencies and the court system before our sweet babies will be officially ours! Hopefully all this will happen before Mid August. The courts close for 6 weeks between mid Aug and through Sept. So, we need to make it through before then or we will be waiting A LOT longer than we hoped.
Our hope is that we will be traveling to get Tesfahun and Zenete some time late summer (or in the next 2-3 months). Please pray with us that the whole process goes smoothly!

We have a Referral!!!!!

We are SO excited....we have a referral of twins! What a blessing. We just heard today that our family is growing by 2. We will be getting a little boy AND a little girl. They are 9 months old and hopefully we will be going to get them in the next 2 months or so. The little boy's name is Tesfahun. The little girl's name is Zenete. They are ADORABLE! As soon as the adoption is full and complete in Ethiopia we will post their pictures! (this wait is by the request of the Ethiopian government)

The news we have been waiting for has finally arrived! We are in SHOCK!
